Oakland School Mental Health Funding Assistance: Oakland County’s Board of Commissioners (BOC) is partnering with the Oakland Community Health Network (OCHN) to launch an Oxford School Mental Health Funding Assistance Program.

Caring for Oxford: If you are in need of assistance with co-pays regarding mental health services, please utilize this link to complete the simple paperwork to begin getting reimbursed for the services you are receiving. This fund has already helped to cover funding for mental health, and does not require a long application process.
All for Oxford Resiliency Center: Located within Oxford, Managed through Common Ground and supported by the Federal Antiterrorism and Emergency Assistance program. Open to volunteers and in place to help support needs expressed by the community. Please contact to express needs, ideas, and for help getting connected to resources.

Trauma Recovery, EMDR Humanitarian Assistance Programs: Network of EMDR-trained licensed clinicians in the Tri-County area helping to provide pro-bono EMDR services to first responders, front-line medical care workers, and victims of mass crisis events.
Parents of Murdered Children National Organization: Events and resources available for families to connect and heal. Promotes healthy grief & healing.
The Dougy Center: Grief support groups for ages 3-18 years old and their families. Also provides educational material.

Transcend NMVC: National Mass Violence and Victimization Resource Center (NMVVRC) developed this for those impacted by violence. Provides different tools to use for different reactions you may be having.
Headspace: They have wonderful mediations and "sleepcasts" to help individuals become grounded and sleep better. For young children search "elmo"
Books:
10 Mindful Minutes, Goldie Hawn with Wendy Holden. Forward by Daniel J. Sigegel: Provides education on how different areas of the brain works, along with the spinal cord and nervous system. Provides different examples of how to use mindfulness for different emotions to help regulate our bodies. Great for parents to use alone and with children.
A Terrible Thing Happened, Margaret M. Holmes: For young children, explores how our bodies react to the stress of trauma but does not state what trauma the character in the book experienced. This allows the child to identify and connect what their trauma is to the book itself.
The Invisible String, Patrice Karst: For young children, helps them identify a way that we are connected to those that we love even when we are not with them or they have passed away.
The Body Keeps Score Workbook: Developed by Bessel Van Der Kolk, therapists, and scientists to assist individuals in better understanding how trauma impacts the body as a whole, and how to process that trauma while rewiring the neuroplasticity of the brain. Can be purchased on Amazon.
